Free Phone Calls 3
An option that you always hear about is calling through a pbx. first you would have to find a pbx with outdialing capabilities then determine its access code. i am no good at this and better information can be found elsewhere. a positive point here would be if the pbx belonged to your target.
Call Forwarding can be used in two ways to get free calls.
the first is to forward the calls from someones line to a pay phone. now you have your friends from all over call you collect on the first number. you simply pick up at the payphone and accept the charges.
the other way is to find two or more payphones close together that allow incoming calls and note their numbers. Go to the business or residential phone of your choice and set up call forwarding to one of your preselected payphones.
Return to your payphones and dial “0″ and the number that you want to call. Use third party billing to the phone where you set up call forwarding. This phone will forward the operator verifying the third number billing to the payphone next to you. When it rings, pick it up and say that you will accept the charges. now go back to your first payphone and talk for as long as you want – even to foriegn countries.
The beauty of this method is that you can bill an infinite number of calls to the same number at the same time. It would look like they had ten people calling out when they only have one line!
third party billing (third number in at+t) can be done from home by choosing another number each time and keeping the calls short you probably wont have much to worry about but this method is not recomended.from a payphone they always verify the third number by calling to ask if billing is allowed. with most LDC’s this is an automated process and if you can change an answering machine to say ‘yes’ over and over you can bill calls to that number. the automated versions at most LDC’s also accept you as yes, as in please leave your number after the beep, thank you. timing is important.
third party billing can also be used when biege boxing. a biege box is simply a phone with aligator clips on the red and green wires. it is used to clip on the terminals outside someone elses house or business to then use the line as if it was your own. using third party billing means that they wont get a bill for all of your calls thus allowing you to use that location more than once. or it will help you remain even more invisible knowing that unless you are traced your calling location will never be known.
when making a biege box it is important that instead of cutting the modular plug off of your phone you go out and puchase an 8″-12″ modular conector cord. cut it in half and attach red and green alligator clips to the red and green wires. You now have two biege box adapters. to use, plug your phone cord into a modular coupler then plug the biege box adapter into the other side of the same coupler.
some features that come in handy on a biege box include dtmf tones, mute and abc+d keys. a lighted key pad and portability are also important.
depending on your area some junction boxes, also know as j-boxes or green boxes, may be open all the time. most will use a flathead screwdriver or a 7/16″ driver to open if they are locked. some have padlocks on top of this but that rarely happens on houses. the best times to connect are when nobody is home or everyone is asleep. the last thing that you want is someone picking up the phone when you are in the middle of a call.
when biege boxing you’ll sometimes need to recieve a call. it may be impossible to hear the phone ringing inside from your location, or people may be home and you dont want the phone to ring inside. all you have to do is call a number that you can stay on for a long time. soon you’ll hear the call waiting beep and you can click over to that call.
as i mentioned before cocots sometimes allow calls to any area code information for free. the fact is that most cocots have pathetic security software and free calls may be only a few phone calls away.
first dial an #800 and either cover the mouthpiece or tell them sorry but you have the wrong number. wait for them to hang up. stay listening and the line will be quiet for a while then you will hear one of two things, a click and a dial tone or “we’re sorry your call could not be completed as dialed please hang up and try your call again.
(more about the security software and what to expect?)
if you get the second one go look for another cocot.
the dial tone may be very quick, 1 or two seconds all the way to 15 seconds.
if you get the dial tone try dialing a number with the phones keypad. if you are lucky the call will go through. if the keypad wont make any noise you have two choices.
#1- use a pocket tone dialer to enter the one digit. wait a second then test the keypad again. this usaually unlocks it, very rarely you will have to tone dial the whole phone number.
#2- this time as soon as they hang up start blowing a steady stream of air into the mouthpiece of the telephone. once you get the dial tone try pressing the one digit while still blowing. if the dialtone stops and you hear the tone for the one digit you may now continue dialing. if you didn’t keep blowing and trying the keypad.
try different speeds of breath.
this method takes most people a while to get used to. sometimes the security will click back on. if this happens keep blowing while you dial the whole number.
